Terms & Conditions
Last Updated: September 2024
By attending a taster session, or rehearsal, or by making payment, you (the “Member”) are confirming that you have read and agreed to the following Terms and Conditions.
Membership & Billing
Croydon Voices is an adult group so members must be over the age of 18.
Prospective members are invited to attend a free taster session. If an individual does not want to join after attending a free taster session - there is no charge. After attending one free taster session, the individual is not permitted to attend another free taster session with Croydon Voices for the remainder of the calendar year.
If the individual enjoys the session and decides that they would like to join Croydon Voices, they will be invited to start their membership.
Croydon Voices membership is paid by direct debit every month. Choir rehearsals are £420 per year spread over 12 months, into equal monthly payments of £35 per month. Members will be provided with at least 40 rehearsals a year, and at least three performance and/or workshop opportunities.
Payment is made through the link on the Croydon Voices Website (www.croydonvoices.com), or via a link sent in an official email from info@croydonvoices.com. The Direct Debit is taken securely and safely through GoCardless. GoCardless is sponsored by the Royal Bank of Scotland and is regulated by the Financial Conduct Authority (FCA). The member must ensure sufficient funds are available for the direct debit withdrawal. Any failed debits due to insufficient funds, card expiry, or any other reasons may result in a late fee of £5 to recoup the fees associated with failed debits.
If a member stops attending rehearsals but does not cancel their direct debit, payments will continue to be taken each month. Croydon Voices cannot offer a refund of these payments. Members are asked to provide the choir with 30 days’ notice in writing requesting a cancellation of their subscription, which will be actioned within 5 working days.
Management
Croydon Voices is managed by Music Ed Ltd, this is a privately managed company adhering to all uk regulation as required.
Health & Safety
The health and safety of Croydon Voices members is of paramount importance. While Croydon Voices carries full Public Liability Insurance and each venue and event is risk assessed, it is the responsibility of every member to act responsibly and not risk the health and safety of themselves and/or others.
It is the responsibility of the member to make Croydon Voices aware of any relevant health issues that may hinder their performance at rehearsals and events. Please email info@croydonvoices - the information provided will be kept strictly confidential.
In the interest of all members' health and safety, if you are unwell we recommend staying home for that session.
Croydon Voices is not responsible for the loss or damage of the personal effects of members during rehearsals, performances or social events. Members are responsible for their own property and well-being whilst attending rehearsals and events.
Absence
If a rehearsal is cancelled or delayed in starting due to extreme weather conditions and/or any other circumstances out of our control (Choir Leader illness, unavailability, traffic), the monthly membership fee is not refundable. Croydon Voices reserves the right to cancel rehearsals at any time, although, this will try to be avoided at all costs. If a situation arises where the Choir Leader or rehearsal venue is unavailable - Croydon Voices will endeavour to reschedule the session or offer an alternative (either in person or online), however, this may not be possible. Croydon Voices aim to avoid disruption to the rehearsal and event schedule as much as possible.
Code of Conduct
Croydon Voices aims to create a safe, inclusive and positive environment for all. Punctual attendance at rehearsals and events is encouraged. Members should respect all fellow members, their Choir Leader and any other staff engaged by Croydon Voices and the engaged rehearsal/performance venue.
Any behaviour deemed inappropriate, such as bullying, harassment, or discrimination whether written or verbal towards other Choir members, the Choir Leader, members of the public or anyone else associated with Croydon Voices will lead to that member being asked to leave the choir. No refund of membership will be given under these circumstances.
Croydon Voices cannot be held financially responsible for injury or damage caused by a member’s misconduct or inappropriate behaviour.
Accessibility & Inclusivity
Croydon Voices does not discriminate on the basis of ethnicity, gender, religion, sexuality or disability or any other “protected characteristic” under the Equality Act 2010. Every effort will be made by Croydon Voices to ensure that rehearsal and performance venues are fully accessible.
If members need to attend rehearsals with a carer - the carer is welcome to join for any rehearsal and will be given membership for free. Carers will be entirely responsible for the individual’s well-being and care through the rehearsal.
If members have any accessibility requirements please email Info@croydonvoices.com before attending a taster session or rehearsal.
